Mystikae Eikona is located between Goreme, Cavusin and Zelve in what is now Turkey. In 1220 A.D., Cappadocia was part of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum. Eventually there will be a map here that will give an idea of the exact location. A modern map of the region undoubtedly will show Nevsehir--the covenant is a bit north and east of that city which was known as Nyssa in Byzantine times, south of Avanos.
